RC·176

MULTI-UNIT HOUSING · LIGHT VOIDS · URBAN DENSITY
Four residential units organized around light, ventilation and the discipline of a compact urban lot.
RC·176 addresses the challenge of density in a desert climate through a vertical composition of shared thresholds, private courtyards and a rooftop that reclaims the sky.

Project Approach
Architecture understood as a sectional problem — where light, air and privacy are resolved from the ground up.
The project stacks four independent units within a controlled footprint, using interior light voids and a sculptural concrete stair to connect levels without sacrificing the autonomy of each residence. A perforated metal screen at street level filters the garage volume while maintaining visual coherence across the facade.
Each unit opens toward its own threshold — a deliberate strategy that avoids the anonymity typical of multi-unit housing. The rooftop closes the sequence with a shared social program, solar infrastructure and unobstructed views over the city.
Spatial Analysis
Interior light void beneath the staircase introduces natural light and vegetation into the core of the building.
Perforated metal screen at the garage level mediates between security, transparency and facade composition.
Rooftop program with bar, lounge and solar array completes the vertical sequence and supports energy autonomy.
